Anna_Profile.jpg

Anna is drawn towards visual expression and imagination. Together with the border-less human connections of life, she creates fleeting and layered images which are timeless and at times, contemporary.

She enjoys playing with the contradiction between the naturalness in the expression of the subject matter and the artificiality of different light effects, shapes, and reflections. It reminds her of the contrast between the raw and pure Swedish forest landscape that she grew up in, with the at times, saturated Nordic light scenes.

Anna is a New York Institute of Photography graduate. She also earned a master’s degree in business and finance from the University of Linköping, Sweden and University of Mannheim, Germany. She spent ten years in mergers and acquisitions providing leveraged finance solutions and transaction advisory for international private equity firms. After which, she went into documentary photography where she works with available light to showcase stories in the communities and worked on various NGO projects. Anna expanded her photography practice during the start of The Master in Photography program at the RMIT School of Arts in Melbourne, Australia, where she experimented with techniques such as controlled, artificial light in an empty 'white-box' studio.

Anna photographs out of passion and also takes a long-term approach to her work, as characterized by her commitment to projects like the Mysterious Happiness book, a charity fundraising photobook project supported by the TNK Foundation and Leica Camera with exhibitions and book launches in various parts of South East Asia. Anna was also a contributing photographer to the Insights Worldwide photobook by the Waldorf school which showcases a unique snapshot of the world's largest free-school movement.

Anna's work has also been featured in galleries as well as private collections; notable highlights includes the #PhotographForProgress: A Journey Through The Female Perspective, an all-female photo exhibition which was supported and initiated by Leica Store Bellevue, WA.

She has also contributed to the UNICEF's 'See what I can do!' project which raised awareness for Filipino children with disabilities and has worked with other NGOs such as the Onesimo Bulilit Foundation and Manila-based feeding programs. Her work has also been featured in the front cover of the South East Asia Leica M10 performance brochure.

She has also been part of art fairs such as the Singapore Tatinis Artfair in 2018 where she exhibited her work, Hollow Light and sold print-based merchandise such as mirrors and other photographic art accessories.

As she continues to explore and express her curiosity of the world and our surroundings; she finds joy in sharing her photographs with a sensitivity of seeing that has an emotional impact on the viewers.
